To Enable Full - Text Searching in verasSRS KnowledgeBase;
 
MS SQL 2000 Configuration
 
(1) From SQL Enterprise Manager, locate the VersaSRS database table, tbl_kbarticles.
 
(2) Right-click on the table and select Full-Text Index Table then Define Full-Text Indexing on a Table... to display the Full-Text Indexing Wizard.
 
(3) Click Next and select the default Unique index: PK_tbl_kbarticles then click Next.
 
(4) Check the required available columns (ArticleNum, ArticleTitle, ArticleGroup1 ... ArticleGroup5, Section1 ... Section7) then click Next.
 
(5) Create a new catalog, set the Name to KB Search and click Next.
 
(6) Create a Catalog Population Schedule as required (e.g. Full - Once a day, Incremental - as required).
 
(7) Click Next then Finish to complete the setup of Full - Text Search.
 

VersaSRS Configuration
 
(1) Run the versaSRS HelpDesk - System Management Console.
 
(2) Select Configure.
 
(3) Connect to the versaSRS HelpDesk Database.
 
(4) Click on the 'Application Settings' tab and Load the settings.
 
(5) Locate the Application Setting 'KBSearchModule' --> Select the option "Full Text" from the drop-down selection.
 
(6) Click the "Apply All Changes" button to commit the change to the system.
 
Note: Changes to the Application Settings will not be reflected in versaSRS HelpDesk until the Global Settings have been reloaded. Please refer to this KB for details; http://www.versadev.com/kbview.aspx?kbaid=176.
