Referring to the solution in the thread http://www.versadev.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=3

I am wondering what the method is for adding more manufacturers and changing of other tables. I need to use the Asset functionality quite extensively, and will require addition of many AssetTypes (already resolved by above thread) and Manufacturers. I have added the manufacturer in tbl_AssetManufacturer but it does not show up in VersaSRS. I then tried to add in tbl_VersaAssetManufacturer. Seeing that all previous records have negative AssetManufacturerID and my new one would have a positive one, I am not sure if this is the correct thing to do.

Can anyone shed some light on the system tables and how they work?

Kind regards,

Eddie

Hi Eddie

Please note, Assets information are stored in database table with prefix of "tbl_VersaAsset...".

You can make Asset Manufacturer editable via the user interface "Manage System Tables". To do this you need to add tbl_VersaAssetManufacturer details in table tbl_SystemTables. The negative values are just the default data for versaSRS. Positive or negative values, it will still work fine.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Cheers

Chean
