Greetings,
I am investigating helpdesk solutions for one of our customers. One of his requirements is that the solution can be installed and operated from a on a server hosted by Godaddy, a server which is not under their direct control and on which it is impossible to install any other component than what Godaddy offers (SQL Server 2005 / .NET 3.5 on WS2003/IIS6).
I have downloaded VersaSRS and the fact that it installs via an msi script tells me that maybe I won't be able to simply install the app in my network and then move it onto the hosted server.
Before I go through all that, could somebody tell me if installation on a hosted environment is even possible? and if so, at least some pointer to the procedure?
Thank you very much in advance for your time,
Furio Filoseta

Apologies for the late reply.
Yes you can install versaSRS on a hosted environment. You can set this up by downloading and extracting the files on your machine and then using FTP to transfer the files to the correct server.
However for full functionality of versaSRS you will need the mailing services, which will need to be installed by the hosting company. Note: Only one instance of the mailing services can be installed on a server and if this instance is already being used it may require a seperate server to run versaSRS to its full capacity.
Cheers,
Philip
