Hi,
The Time Line gives a visual indication of the 'Open' time for the linked cases. For example if there were several linked cases displayed under the Links tab the Time Line can show a graphical representation of when each case was opened and for how long, in comparison to the others. Therefore the user would be able to see if cases were created in parallel or if one was created a long time after, or if some cases are taking a longer amount of time.
The graphical representation could be compared to what you might expect to see for the timeline in a project management application.
Cheers, Philip

Is the "time" element based on the logged time, elapsed time calls are open for, or time taken? Can the times this is based on be seen or is it a simple percentage of whatever time elements are used?

Hi,
The time element is based on logged time and time elapsed for open calls and is a graphical representation of these factors together. Its benefit becomes apparent when comparing the cases to one another.
